On-site Mindfulness Meditation

Mindfulness meditation emphasizes focusing on the breath to stay present in the moment and recognize your thoughts, feelings, and sensations as they occur without judgement. Through meditation and by giving full attention to one thing at a time, we can learn to direct attention where we choose.

We are now offering online meditation for employees who WFH or in other office locations. The meditation can be recorded and made available to employees not present at the time of live meditation. Please contact me to discuss the details.

Mindfulness Meditation in Business

CEOs, Silicon Valley entrepreneurs, physicians, and lawyers are discovering that the key to productivity, efficiency, and stress relief can be found in sitting still and observing how your mind works. Research shows that meditation can help restructure the brain in ways that lead to better concentration, enhanced cognitive abilities, boosted immunity, and greater compassion. By learning to shift from rapid and habitual patterns of thinking, we become more streamlined and focused in our attention. Major corporations that have a keen interest in supporting employees with these programs include: Google, Nike, Apple, Kinsey & Company, Procter and Gamble, DDB Chicago and Energy BBDO.

See the Science

The Science

Scientific research into meditation has exploded in recent years. Scientific evidence shows that meditation has a tangible positive effect on the amygdala, the part of the brain responsible for emotions, fight or flight responses, and memory. The National Institutes of Health and the American Heart Association have both concluded that daily meditation can lower blood pressure and stress levels.

Many well-known successful people meditate on a regular basis. This includes Phil Jackson, Bill Ford, Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan, Oprah Winfrey, and Arianna Huffington. Olympic champions and other successful people in a variety of fields use meditation as a way to deal with the overwhelming stress, competition, and anxiety of American life. About Ken

About Ken Cox

I began my career working at NWAyer and Grey Advertising which led me to yoga and meditation as a means to reduce stress. I have been practicing yoga for over 33 years and teaching yoga and meditation for last 20 years. I teach in a way that helps people to understand both practices in an easy and friendly way.

In my classes, we explore the nature of thinking and how it affects our daily lives. Mindfulness meditation teaches us that we always have a choice to go with a thought or emotion or choose to let it go. In this way, we become less reactive to job stress and can form a response instead of an immediate reaction.Employees report being more productive, making better decisions, and feeling less stressed as a result of learning how to take a simple five minute break of "stillness" to regain focus on the tasks at hand.

Meditation @ Work

Meditation in the Workplace

We can become more efficient and creative at our jobs when we are not distracted during our workday. In fact, one study shows it takes about 23 minutes to get back into the swing of things after you’ve been interrupted.

Classes are open to employees who are new to meditation as well as those who currently have a meditation practice. You can schedule mindfulness meditation before, during or after lunch based on the needs of your business. Any number of employees can attend. I offer 6 and 12-week packages to suit your company's needs.
